Conditions of entry for Country Style Win Outdoor Furniture April 2009
1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the
competition is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions.
2. Entry is open to all residents of Australia aged 18 years or over.
3. The Promoter is News Magazines Pty Ltd. Employees of News Magazine and their advertising agencies,
newsagents, subagents, respective employees and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.
4. Promotion commences 12:01am on Friday 20th March 2009 and closes 11.59pm on Tuesday 21st April
2009 (promotional period) and the winners will be drawn at 12:00pm Friday 24th April 2009 at Dialect
Interactive Level 17, 100 Arthur Place, North Sydney NSW 2060. All times referred to in these conditions
are all Australian Eastern time, be it Daylight Savings or Standard time.
5. Winners will be notified by phone within 2 working days and also in writing and prize winners will be
published in the Public Notices section of The Australian on Wednesday 29th April 2009.
6. Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. If a prize is unclaimed, an unclaimed prize draw will be held at 12:00pm Australian Eastern on Monday
27th July 2009 at Dialect Interactive, Level 17, 100 Arthur Place, North Sydney, subject to any written
directions given by the relevant state Lottery and Gaming Regulators, and any winner’s name will be
published in the Public Notices section of The Australian on Wednesday 22nd July 2009.
8. The First valid entry drawn will win the major prize of a garden set valued at $5,016.90 consisting of;
a. Granite-topped outdoor dinning table $2,099
b. Milano Fountain $2,875
c. Garden sculpture - Rooster $20.50
d. Garden sculpture - Hen $22.40
9. The next valid entry drawn will win the minor prize of a garden set valued at $2,001.50 consisting of;
a. Oval 3 piece outdoor setting $630
b. Swing $899
c. Small Grippa Urn in old Spanish $412
d. Porcelain doves pair $60.50
10. Total prize pool valued at $7,018.40
11. To enter, participants must either;
a. Call 1900 966 370 (calls costs 55c incl gst, higher from mobiles) and follow the prompts to
leave their full name, address and daytime contact number or.
b. SMS their full name, address and daytime contact number to 199 91 116 as advertised in
the Country Style Magazine. Text message costs a maximum of 55c per message and each
text messages is a maximum of 160 characters.
12. Entry by SMS is only open to entrants with an SMS compatible mobile phone connected to a service
provider which permits premium text messaging to the promotional SMS number. It is recommended
that entrants check with their individual service provider in this regard. Any costs associated with
entering the competition and accessing the website are the responsibility of the entrant.
13. Entries must be received by 11:59pm (AEDT) Tuesday 21st April 2009. The time of entry will in all cases
be the time the entry is received by the database at Dialect Interactive.
14. Multiple entries are accepted, however there is only one prize awarded per person (excluding SA
participants) and each entry must be made as a separate call or SMS.
15. Entries without the required information will be deemed incomplete and will not count towards an entry
into the Promotion. Any form of automated electronic entry that does not meet the entry requirements as per
clause 6 will be deemed invalid and not counted as a valid entry. Entries via SMS will only be accepted from
mobile phones.
16. Winners will be electronically drawn entries will be validated for entry eligibility as per clause 10 and any
invalid entries will be discarded and the draw will continue until all prizes are allocated.
17. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize. All prize values are in
Australian dollars.
18. Prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash or kind.
19. Winners must take the prize as offered. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must
comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.
20. Once prizes have left the Promoter’s premises, the Promoter takes no responsibility for prizes damaged,
delayed or lost in transit.
21. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or great value if the prize is
for some reason unavailable subject to gaming authority approval.
22. Should an entrant’s contact details change during the promotional period, it is the entrant’s responsibility
to notify the Promoter.
23. Unless otherwise specified, all ancillary costs are the winner’s responsibility.
24. The Promoter and Dialect Interactive are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information,
either caused by you or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in the
competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the
administration of the competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation
or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction
or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
25. The Promoter and Dialect Interactive are not responsible for lost, late, incomprehensible or incorrect
entries in the competition. We also accept no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from
prize winnings in the competition. You should seek Independent financial advice about such matters.
26. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency, disaster or (without limitation) any other event outside
our reasonable control, we are entitled to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition - subject
to any written directions from the various regulatory bodies responsible for supervising the conduct of the
competition (the Lotteries Departments).
27. If for any reason the competition is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to)
technical failures, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which
corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition,
we are entitled in our sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and
(subject to any written directions given by the various Lotteries Departments), to cancel, terminate,
modify or suspend the competition.
28. The winners release the Promoter from any and all causes of action, losses, liability, damage, expense
(including legal expenses) cost or charge suffered, sustained or in any way incurred by the winner as a
result of any loss or damage to any physical property of the winner, or any injury to or death of any
person arising out of, or related to, or in any way connected with the Promoters or the prize.
29. In the event of a third party other than the promoter cancelling any event related to this prize, the
Promoter cannot be held responsible.
30. The winner agrees to participate in any news media activities surrounding the promotion.
31. Entrants’ details may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and winners’ names
published as required under the relevant lottery legislation.
32. News Magazines collects your information to include you in this competition and will disclose the
information to others who help us run the competition. We may also use the information to assist us in
improving our goods and services and to contact you in the future in regard to our other goods and
services. We may share your information with other persons or entities that assist us in performing the
above or with another company which provides prizes for the competition. You can contact us to gain
